Having themselves felt the pain of elongated Merchant onboarding with Acquirers, never-ending document collection and low overall approval rates for Higher Risk Merchants, Nathan and Kathryn set out to build a digital-first ISO. This technology would give all ISOs the power to compete against the likes of Stripe and PayPal.
Glebs started in the merchant navy but, after watching quite a few tv shows about coders, he decided to look into it and realised he loved it. He signed up for a course on Udemy then joined Northcoders before coming to Templar. When he’s not working Glebs loves to skate/snowboard, is a big gamer and likes to go to the gym. He’s also a big fan of old school hip hop.
Daniel is a former solicitor, UFC and football fan who likes to spend his free time playing pool with friends or going away for relaxing weekends with his girlfriend. He is also responsible for the back-end code that makes our projects run and helps to build the API. He started looking into coding in his free time before realising that that’s what he wanted to do. He graduated from Northcoders then joined the Templar team.
William was initially studying psychology at university before he completed a software development side project and decided that he enjoyed that so much more. He graduated from Northcoders, then came to us. When he’s not spending his time working, William likes to play sports and spend time relaxing at home with his two labradors, watching comedy shows such as Brooklyn 99. He also has a varied taste in music. Anything from pop to rock!
Sophie comes from a long background in customer service roles. She’s worked for Vodafone as a part of their broadband tech team and was a member of the mobile app and complaints department for Natwest. She now helps to keep everything at Templar organised and run smoothly. When she’s not busy helping everyone else keep their lives on track, Sophie makes wax melts as a side business and loves to chill with a good comedy. Especially anything with Melissa McCarthy.
Alekos has a long history of working in the hospitality industry, as well as three years in the army. A couple of years ago he decided that it was time to try something different. He had a few other jobs but nothing was really appealing to him. As roles with Templar presented themselves, he realised that (as a natural-born problem-solver) this could be the perfect opportunity for him. He felt that the whole vibe of the company was a perfect fit.
Nadia comes to us with a background in marketing. She was previously responsible for listing, advertising and improving products on ten French marketplaces. Très impressionnant! She wanted to join Templar as she was impressed with how dynamic and motivated we are. We’re equally as pleased to have her on board and are excited to see how she’s going to help us move forward.
Fionn is a big rock and blues fan who plays the guitar in his free time and came to us with over twenty years of experience in the payment industry. He started with a company selling devices to allow casinos to take online payments, helped multiple companies to expand over the years and worked for Mastercard. However, he missed the personal feel of a smaller company, which is why he joined our team.
Jubisha comes to us with a passion for coffee, Bollywood movies/biographies and music, along with a whole lot of love for the Fintech industry. She has a wealth of experience, including working with both Mastercard and TSYS. She likes to read up on blog sites in her spare time to keep up to date with the latest industry trends. Her love and knowledge for what she does are infectious and we’re very excited to have her as part of the Templar team.
Leadill has been interested in programming and coding from a young age and started out writing gaming hacks. He’s worked for numerous companies, gaining a wealth of tech experience, including how to build the components we’re using on Templar’s web application today. Outside of work, Leadill spends most of his time with his beautiful border collie named Luna.
Branamir is based in Croatia, but also lives in Germany from time to time. He has been working in UX and UI designs for 10 years. He loves all music from the 70s onwards, listening to ebooks about modern technology and the design industry and obviously Netflix. He enjoys shutting off all tech and spending time outdoors on the weekends, as he lives near a nature reserve with plenty of wildlife!
Leonardo is currently studying international economics and was a part of the Model United Nations programme as a student. He began to take an interest in animation when he looked into After Effects. It started with a few fun videos to go along with music and from there he learned more and more until he got to where he is today. Outside of works he likes gardening, woodworking, electronics and listens to anything from rap to Otis Reading.
Hugo studied web development at a university in Lilles, France, which included back and front end development. He’s worked on projects involving video games, cryptocurrencies and gambling websites. His first job involved working with a journaling website and recently decided to resign from that role to fully concentrate on helping develop Templar. He is passionate about raising money for animal rights charities, loves skateboarding, music and gaming.
Adele is a huge fan of the theatre (Jersey Boys is her personal favourite). She owned a soft furnishing store for 10 years, then worked in the medical device industry where she helped to design a new heart valve! Adele has now taken a break from designing life-changing devices and is a vital part of our sales team. When she’s not at work, she loves to get together with friends, or just relax with a good boxset such as Greys Anatomy or Dexter.
Alexander realised he wanted to study computer science after wondering how you create a website. He started researching and watching YouTube videos and signed up for a course. Whilst studying he also did some freelance work with Clicawork Ltd. The flexibility of working here allowed him to learn so much more about UX/UI design, which is what makes him so great at what he does now.
Carl is a massive Leeds United fan, a cooking enthusiast and loves to spend his free time playing tennis/squash and badminton. He’s got a wealth of experience in sales as he’s worked in the industry since he was 17. He also loves music and has four kids, a cockapoo named Ruby and is planning a European road trip next year with his girlfriend, Adele.
Adeel started as a data analyst back in 2005, but these days he likes to focus more on the technology integrations side of things and digital marketing. When he’s not working on the computer, Adeel likes to relax and play games such as Counterstrike. However, with a passion for nature, he also loves to just hop in the car for long road trips to explore new places.
Ali has experience as a software engineer and web developer. For templar, he is currently working on CRM support and sending email for marketing purposes. He also helped develop some web pages for us and IT support. Outside of work, he enjoys troubleshooting, problem solving and studying as well as movies,everything IT and program developing.
Ali has a lot of pets including german shepherd dogs and much more!
Ella studied English with creative writing at university, so obviously loves to read (anything from The Discworld series to A Clockwork Orange). She also has a varied taste in music but has the biggest soft spot for punk. When she’s not proofreading and writing things for Templar she loves to listen to true crime podcasts and go on long walks with her dog, Sid.
